Ground Source Inc. Product List
  • Geothermal Heat Pumps

An all electric heat pump that operates at half the cost or less that of conventional furnace & A/C.  It is a forced air system that heats & cools yor home, preheats hot water for domestic household use and/or it can be used for radiant floor heating.  Installation of the ground loop in your yard is where the heat exchange takes place.  At 5-6' deep the earths temperature is about 55 degrees.  In the summer the system circulates the warm air in your house through the water in the underground loop cooling it down and cycling it back to the system inside cooling your home. In the winter process is reversed and the system gets the warmth from the earth to help heat your home.  All the equipment is in the house in one unit no outside condensor is needed.  This system is very quiet and quite comfortable.

  • Radiant Floor Heat

This system can be installed under the basement slab or garage floor.  We install an insulation blanket under the slab reinforcement and then tie pex tubing ontop of the reinforcement prior to the concrete being poured.  We can also do this under an accesible main floor by staple up with aluminum plates, pex tubing ran through the plates and then insulation.  The water for this application can be heated by different items, water heater, boiler, geothermal heat pump.

  • Electric Cable Warm Floors

This system is designed for smaller areas that you would like to have heated floors. Ideally for bathrooms, kitchens. It is designed to be under ceramic tile or laminated wood floors only.  It is an electric cable that is installed ontop of the backerboard and then thin set is applied on top of it.  It is ran off of 110 power and a GFi breaker with a thermostat on the wall.

  • Air Source Heat Pumps

This system is a conventional heat pump with an air handler in the house and a heat pump condensor outside the house. It is the next best system if you don't install a geothermal heat pump.

  • Gas Furnace & A/C

This system is the traditional heating and cooling system LP or natural gas.

Incentives to explore Geothermal Heat Pumps

Geothermal Heat Pump systems can cost up to twice as much to install as a conventional heating & cooling system.  But return on investment can be realized quickly, here is how . . .
  • They will pay back the up front additional cost on average between 5-8 years with what they will save on the monthly utility bills.
  • Many of the Rural Electric Cooperatives in Kansas offer a rebate program if you install a geothermal heat pump in your house and also have a different electric rate for your electricity.
  • The federal government has a federal tax credit for the years of 2006-2007 if you install a geothermal heatpump you can receive $350.00 for exisiting & new homes.
  • New homes may qualify for even more of a tax credit for other energy efficiencies up to $2000.00.
